Frederick Interpreting Agency, LLC · Last updated: August 4, 2026

Frederick Interpreting Agency (“FIA,” “we,” “us”) provides sign language and spoken language interpreting services. This policy describes how we collect and use information in the course of providing those services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when requesting or scheduling interpreting services: names, organization, contact details (phone, email), and appointment dates, times, and locations. FIA staff members may voluntarily provide their mobile phone numbers through our internal staff alerts sign-up form if they wish to receive operational text alerts.

How We Use Information

We use this information to schedule and deliver interpreting services, communicate about appointments, process billing, and operate our business. We do not send marketing messages by SMS.

SMS / Text Messaging

FIA uses SMS text messaging to send operational alerts to staff members who have opted in — for example, urgent interpreter no-show notifications and after-hours scheduling messages captured by our phone assistant. Messages are sent only to FIA staff who have opted in; no messages are sent to the public or to customers.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to provide services (for example, providing an interpreter with appointment details), with service providers who process data on our behalf, or as required by law.

Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, and retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
